Unfortunately, my 34th birthday was my first birthday without my dad. He passed away July 26th, 2013 from bone cancer. I miss him so very much. Te queiro mucho, papi.
This is my beautiful mom. She is my number one hero. Because of this strong woman, I am the strong woman who I am today. She raised my sister and me by herself, and she taught my sister and me how to love each other like siblings should be taught. I love my mom so very much!
This is my beautiful sister, Tina, who is four years younger than me. I am so blessed to have a sister like Tina. She has taken care of me since she was 12. In 2019, my mom and I bought a house with Tina and her husband so that she could help with my care as our mom got older. I love my sister so very much! She is one of my best friends.

This photo was taken Christina evening 2024. This is Tina and me with her husband Michael. Michael always makes Christmas fun for all of us. I am so very blessed to have a brother-in-law like him. Tina met him in 2004. From the beginning, she told him that she would eventually have to help my mom with me by living together. He was very accepting to the idea. They got married in 2015. I love my brother so very much!
I wanted to put this photo of our dad to show even though he was Mexican, he was not ashamed to be seen with me out in the community. My parents issue was money. However, my dad could take care of me as well as our mom. During the last five years of his life, even Saturday, he would take me to spend the night, and we would watch Mexican soccer together. He was an America fan, and I am a Chivas fan so when our teams play against each other, my dad and I would fight. Sunday mornings, he would make me a good breakfast with eggs and beans. I really miss those times.
Here we are with our dad on his 63rd birthday. Every Saturday, we would go eat as a family. Our mom taught Spanish at senior center. She would leave me alone in bed for a little while, and then our dad would go over and get me up. When I was ready, we would meet my mom and sister at a Mexican restaurant. When our dad couldn't lift me anymore (about a year), he would go to our house to watch soccer with me.
